Overview

The British Centres for Business (BCB) is part of a wider global UKTI programme to provide practical on-the-ground support for UK SMEs & exporters to access new overseas markets. It is fully supported by the British Business Group in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and also has the full endorsement and active participation of local government in both emirates.

The Role

High quality candidates are being sought for the position of Administration & Marketing Assistant, based in Dubai, a vital position for someone who can provide support, experience and quality.

This individual will work with the Business Operations Manager to ensure the day-to-day management of the BCB in Dubai is seamless, efficient, on-budget and meets clients’ needs.

The ideal individual will have excellent organisational capabilities, be a clear & concise communicator and enjoy taking on new responsibilities.

This person will deliver all administrative and client-service related aspects of the BCB in Dubai and will have a key role in supporting the Business Operations Manager and CEO in their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development support : Talking to potential clients about the BCB through events/phone/email as needed and answering all online queries through the website.
  • Client communication : Compiling monthly newsletters and regular client advisory communications and circulating to BCB database.
  • Client management : Support UK SMEs through the formation process into the BCB incubator and provide further assistance to enable them to subsequently flourish.
  • Invoicing : Ensure all clients are billed accurately & on time. Following up payments and keeping track of BCB finances, working closely with appointed accountants.
  • Administration : Responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day operations of BCB office; work with Dubai SME to ensure UK SMEs are properly looked after in the Business Centre itself.
  • Reporting & budgeting : Help collate & process data for reports to board of directors, UKTI etc.
  • Database management : Maintain client, business development, vendor databases and CRM-related programmes.
  • Website management : Maintain the BCB website by adding client and partner information as needed and responding to enquiries posted to the website.
  • P.A. responsibilities : Provide secretarial support to CEO and Business Operations Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5-10+ years progressive experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the UAE.
  • Experience working in the fields of company formation, business centres, business councils & networks or trade support offices.
  • Financial literacy.  Previous work within budgets, reporting & accountancy functions.
  • Computer literacy.  Ability to work in all MS Office programmes, particularly Excel.
  • Comfortable working in a new and fast growing business where business environment is likely to be very dynamic and subject to rapid evolution.
  • Capacity to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as they emerge.
  • Passion for client satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills and exemplary time management/organisational skills.
  • Great communication and negotiation skills
  • Keen interest in international trade.
