Abu Dhabi: The Oil and Gas Giant

06 Apr, 2017 - Consumer & Retail

With the BCB spreading it’s wings into Abu Dhabi with our new incubator partnership, it is only appropriate that we look at more Abu Dhabi focused sectors and how we can support them.

Oil & Gas is a key driver in the Middle East’s economy and Abu Dhabi is the central hub for the Oil & Gas industry in the UAE. With the headquarters of the national oil company, ADNOC, and its subsidiaries in Abu Dhabi, along with offices of their international partners and stakeholders, it is also a regional oil & gas hub. Even with the drop in the oil price, the UAE is still an active market for innovation and investment in the oil & gas sector. Whilst consolidation of some of ADNOC’s subsidiaries has happened, the large scale projects to expand capacity offshore, and develop sour gas fields onshore, are still headline grabbing projects.

With the fourth largest oilfield in the world, Abu Dhabi still has plenty of oil to get to.

The BCB are proudly supporting EIC in their regional event, EIC Connect, in Abu Dhabi in May. The EIC supports UK companies in the energy sector worldwide, and is active in the region.

The EIC Connect event is a chance for UK companies to meet with and hear from Middle East industry leaders and procurement experts. Speed networking and briefings and discussions will highlight the opportunities in the sector currently, and the near future.
