GITEX stands for Gulf Information Technology Exhibition – the largest Tech event in the MENA region. The 37th edition of GITEX starts on 8th October and finishes on the 12th, and is held in Dubai. Last year saw 4000 exhibitors at the event with a footfall of more than 146,000 visitors.
The UAE Government leads the Middle East in digital adoption and significant progress is being made to promote and push the boundaries of innovation. In line with the current global trends and the Dubai Government strategy, the focus this year will be on around IoT, Smart Cities Technology, AR/VR, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Some of the existing but critical sectors that continue to grow exponentially at GITEX include Cloud, Mobility, Security and Enterprise Hardware/Software.
There has always been a substantial UK presence at GITEX. Tradefair is the official UK agent for the event and with the support of the Department of International Trade (DIT), they will again be facilitating the attendance of a large UK delegation. This year, along with techUK and the DIT, they are also organising a Smart Cities pavilion.
