Back To Business UAE

25 Aug, 2014 - Consumer & Retail

Summer in the UAE is a time when the business climate cools faster than the natural one; temperatures reach an average of 40-45 degrees centigrade. This pushes much of the expat community on to aeroplanes for annual leave for their long summer getaways.  Business does not stop, but it certainly slows.

The UAE business calendar is cyclical. As one might imagine, after a trough comes a peak, and September to April represents the UAE business communities’ finest hour. As we approach this time, I thought it pertinent to list a few of the major business events in the coming three months

September
CityScape Global
GITEX Shopper
The Hotel Show

October
Big Boys Toys
GITEX Technology Week

November
ADIPEC
Helishow Dubai
The Big 5

This is a small selection. The Dubai World Trade Centre, for example, has major industry events occurring almost daily until the end of 2014; early 2015 brings with it Arab Health, Gulf Food, and more.

The UAE slows down for three months each year because of the heat, however it certainly makes up for lost ground from September onwards.  For the BCB, this will be our busiest time as UK firms look to establish in the UAE and take advantage of the positive climate, in both the business & meteorological sense!
