BCB At The Intersec 2016

12 Jan, 2016 - UAE Life & Economy

Next week I’ll be attending Intersec. Intersec is an event for the security industry and will be held in Dubai this month. We, the BCB, attend many events throughout the year and look closely at the ones frequented by UK companies. The reason we attend so many and don’t wait by the phone for that call, is because events are still very important to the UAE markets – all of them. To be seen, to shake hands, and to exchange business cards is still the lifeblood of the community here.

The Middle East security market is expected to reach a value of £7bn by 2020, which is approximately 10% of the global market. This figure represents about 23% growth which is double the global average. This is why UK companies are exhibiting this year, to the tune of 120 of them (74 via the UK pavilion). And this is why I’ll be there.

I’m advised that the two main drivers for this growth is physical security due to infrastructure development, and new technologies and automation. This plays perfectly to the UKs strength in both innovation and knowledge.

We have already spoken to some companies, using Twitter and email, but we may not have reached you. If you are reading this and are going to be at Intersec make sure we have time for a chat and maybe a coffee, our job is to help you do business here – and that’s exactly the reason you’re at Intersec in the first place.
