BCB March Newsletter: Scale2Dubai, renewables, legal & Ramadan

23 Mar, 2021

Good Morning

As you will have seen from many of our recent updates, Expo 2020 Dubai is a recurrent theme that we’re very excited by given the potential for UK companies to engage and make the most of this global forum, at a time when the world will be set on a post-Covid rebound.

We’re therefore very pleased to announce a further tie up with Expo, through District 2020 (the main legacy project) where the BCB has become an official partner for the Scale2Dubai programme. Through this agreement, the BCB will act as a conduit for quality high-potential British start ups looking to use Dubai as a launch pad for the region through District 2020. This complements our existing Incubator platform, which is better suited to more established SMEs, and means that the BCB can offer full support to early-stage companies at every step of their development in the UAE.

We also feature developments in renewable energy…that have actually led to lower electricity bills in Dubai and new consumer laws brought about by the massive growth in online shopping.

And, Ramadan this year starts on April 12th so we look ahead to that and some practical tips, particularly if you’re new to the region.

As ever, please do get in touch if we can help with your export plans in the Middle East.
