Dubai: CityScape Global

16 Sep, 2014 - Consumer & Retail

CityScape Global is a B2B real estate event held annually in the UAE. The event (previously known as CityScape Dubai and Abu Dhabi, respectively) made headlines during the heady days of the regional real estate bubble as investors clamoured to sign ownership rights to buildings, floors, villas, and apartments. Since then (2007/2008), the UAE has put in place regulatory bodies such as RERA, to manage and protect the market with the aim of avoiding similar scenarios in the future.

Today CityScape still attracts thousands of visitors from construction and real estate and remains as relevant to the local economy as it ever was.  Similarly, UAE real estate is as relevant to UK companies as it ever has been.

There has been a long-standing presence in the Emirates from companies like KEO and Atkins, the latter working most notably on the Burj Al Arab. Jones Lang LaSalle, started more than 200 years ago in London, has regional headquarters in Dubai, as do recruitment firms, architects, artists, agents, and more. Events like CityScape Global expose British firms to potential partners and clients from all over the world. In addition to product and project showcasing, these forums offer excellent networking opportunities whether your company is already incorporated in the UAE, or if you’ve arrived for the week on a fact-finding mission.
