Overview

The British Centres for Business (BCB) is the UAE delivery partner for a wider global British Government export development initiative providing practical on-the-ground support for UK SMEs & exporters to access new overseas markets. The BCB works alongside the British Embassies in the UAE and other Overseas Delivery Partners in the region.

The Role

High quality candidates are being sought for the position of Regional Administration Assistant, based in Dubai, a vital position for someone who can provide support, experience and quality to the BCB team and our counterparts in the region.

This individual will work with the Overseas Delivery Partners to provide day-to-day support for administrative tasks relating volume delivery, export growth and trade development in the GCC.

The ideal individual will have excellent organisational capabilities, be a clear & concise communicator and enjoy taking on new responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development support
Communicating with potential UK exporters through events/phone/email about the regional support offered to UK companies; answering online queries

• Signposting
Guiding potential exporters to the right market and source of support for their needs according to sector drivers, geographical needs and target client profile

• Research
Support regional teams with trade and export research projects

• Coordination
Act as a conduit for regional communication and collaboration

• Reporting:
Support regional trade services reporting requirements through data entry and filing. Help collate & process data for regional reporting requirements.

• Database management :
Maintain client, business development, vendor databases and CRM-related programmes.

• Event support:
Provide on ground support for incoming delegations, trade shows and regional events.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 2-5 years experience in a similar administrative role
• Minimum of 3 years working in the region
• Experience working in the fields of company formation, business centres, business councils & networks or trade support offices
• Computer literacy. Ability to work in all MS Office programmes, particularly Excel
• Comfortable working in a new and fast growing business where business environment is likely to be very dynamic and subject to rapid evolution
• Capacity to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as they emerge
• Passion for client satisfaction
• Strong analytical skills and exemplary time management/organisational skills
• Keen interest in international trade
