UAE Vat Update October 2017

With the upcoming introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) in the UAE, The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced the deadlines for applications. Almost all businesses in the UAE are required to apply for VAT registration.

The details:

Businesses with a turnover exceeding AED150m should apply for registration before October 31st 2017.

Businesses with a turnover exceeding AED10m should apply for registration before November 30th 2017.

Businesses with a turnover of AED375,000 or more during the past 12 months must apply by December 4th 2017, this includes businesses that expect turnover to reach this amount within the next 30 days.

Businesses with a turnover of AED187,000 during the past 12 months are able to voluntarily apply in preparation for registration.

Companies that offer zero rated services are also mandated to apply according to these deadlines.

There is an additional provision for those wishing to create a Tax Group.
