The Muslim holy month of Ramadan starts this year around 5th May so this month’s update is a good opportunity to advise companies new to the region on what happens from a business perspective and also remind the veterans about how things change for that period. We hope this is useful.
Ahead of that, we are hosting the second UK Tech Forum event at our office in Dubai on April 28th, in conjunction with DIT, and encourage any company in this sector who’s in town at that time to register and attend.
The IBBC tech conference is also taking place in Baghdad on April 30th which will bring together leading companies in the tech sector in Iraq. Details on how to register can be found below.
While things might slow down in other sectors, retail is the one area that will see more activity during the month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the most widely celebrated time of the year in the Arab world. This month is a time when the busy city takes a slow, deep breath.
We are hosting the UK Tech Forum in partnership with the Department for International Trade on Sunday 28th April.
IBBC is bringing together the leading companies involved in Tech in Iraq to discuss the various strands of Tech and the evident possibilities for investment and engagement in Iraq.
