BCB’s April Newsletter: COP is coming

27 Apr, 2023

Good Morning

From November 30th to December 12th this year, the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – better known as COP28 – is being held in Dubai.

Following on from the UAE’s successful hosting of Expo in 2021-22 and last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar, COP puts the Middle East back in the global events’ spotlight for the third year running. Our initial overview on COP28 can be found here and we will bring you further updates and news over the coming months in the lead up to the event.

On a related note, we also shine a light on CSR in the UAE which is increasingly coming to the fore as a key consideration for companies of all sizes, just as it is in the UK: expect COP’s staging in the country to accelerate this trend as it raises awareness on this wider area.

With Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr having passed, the next two months promise to be a busy time in the region ahead of Eid Al Adha and the annual summer getaway; let us know if we can help with your plans.

Regards
Joe
