The BCB Five: Harrison

What line of business are you in?

In short, we design food and beverage offers for bars, restaurants, hotels and numerous other leisure operators, and also provide concept development and branding services.

Why have you chosen to expand to the UAE?

Many of our UK based clients have recently asked us to develop some of their UK concepts for the Middle East. After carrying out over ten such projects it made sense to consider moving to the UAE. In addition, we have been receiving a large number of enquiries from UAE based organisations to work here, so establishing a Branch Office in the region became a priority.

Please describe the process of deciding to expand, and how your company came to choose BCB.

We initially carried out research into the many ways of expanding in the UAE, talking to UKTI and contacting a number of organisations that we identified on internet searches. We established that the BCB scheme was ideal, giving us the opportunity to start our business, with minimal cost and risk, and with the backing and experience of the BCB team.

What do you foresee for your industry in the coming twelve months?

Without a doubt Expo 2020 Dubai has created enormous opportunity for development in the food and beverage sector. We see ourselves winning a large number of design contracts, for both companies based in the UAE and overseas. Our challenge is to continue to deliver original and distinctive designs for our broad client base.

Finally, what types of clients do you have, who should be contacting you for business?

We currently work for a broad range of hospitality providers such as branded restaurant groups, individual restaurant operators, bars, nightclubs, leisure operators, hotels and entrepreneurs, who are based in the UAE, UK and USA. We have the skills and capabilities to deliver our services to additional clients from literally anywhere in the world. We have to date completed over 2800 projects globally, and have the scale to take on both individual and multi-unit contracts.
