Amidst the general doom & gloom, we’re pleased to report an altogether more positive narrative for our tor-services/”>incubator client, Firefly Learning, a UK EdTech company with offices in the UK, Belfast, Singapore, Sydney and Dubai.
As soon as schools were forced to work remotely around the globe, Firefly saw a massive spike in demand for their tech-enabled learning platform that enables schools and teachers to deliver engaging lessons remotely, as well as managing parent communication efficiently.
The immediate impact of this is that Firefly had to increase its server capacity by 13 times to manage both the unprecedented upsurge in demand and continue to provide continuity to their more than 1 million pre-existing active users.
To support schools in this unprecedented situation, Firefly are offering free access to their platform until the end of the academic year as well as providing eBooks and webinars on best practice in dealing with school closures & the new remote learning realities.
Firefly is now supporting more than 500 schools in 40 countries around the world. From their Dubai base, they are busy engaging with schools around the wider MENA region where they are finding that their quality product & offer has even more resonance in the unique operating environment that all schools now find themselves in.
Established in 2005, Firefly Learning is an EdTech company headquartered in London, UK. Firefly was founded by co-founders Joe Mathewson and Simon Hay, to help teachers and fellow students have access to school information online and out of the classroom.
Firefly established presence in the UAE through the BCB’s incubator platform in late 2019 to support schools’ activities in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt as well as interest in the UAE.
