Dubai’s Emirates reclaims title of UAE’s best brand

Emirates Airline has reclaimed its status as the UAE’s best brand, according to the YouGov BrandIndex 2015 Mid-Year BestBrand Rankings. The home-grown mega brand beat global electronics heavyweight Samsung, and mobile messaging service Whatsapp to dominate the rankings, having been in third position for the past two years.

Dubai Chamber to participate in the 9th World Retail Congress in Rome

Nakheel has agreed a deal with Al Tayer Group to bring in a group of the UAE conglomerate’s retail brands into its new Al Khail Avenue shoppingmall in Dubai. The developer said the deal will see Al Tayer Group take 54,000 sq ft of space in the new 1.2 million sq ft mall. Al Tayer Group will use the space to take units for lifestyle and hospitality brands including Gap, Mamas and Papas, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic, Areej, Caffe Nero and Ocean Basket.

A Gradual Makeover for UAE’s Retail Sector 

Over the course of this year retailers have been reporting flat to lower sales year on year. Abu Dhabi Can’t Get Enough of New Mall Space

Vacancy rates at Abu Dhabi’s existing malls are unchanged at around the 2 per cent mark in the 12 months to end June, based on estimates by the consultancy JLL. What it means is that a new generation of shopping destinations is what the emirate needs. And they are coming.
